BREAKING NEWS: Big 10 Tournament Canceling Remaining Games

Talk Williamsport has been carrying the BIG 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament and with the first game of the day set to tip-off the conference released the following statement.

BIG TEN STATEMENT

The Big Ten Conference announced today that it will be canceling the remainder of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, effective immediately.

The Big Ten Conference will use this time to work with the appropriate medical experts and institutional leadership to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The main priority of the Big Ten Conference continues to be the health, safety and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, fans and media as we continue to monitor all developing and relevant information on the COVID-19 virus.

Since the BIG 10 announcement, all Power 5 conferences have canceled their respective tournaments., including The ACC, Big 10, BIG 12, SEC and PAC-12.

The American (AAC), Atlantic 10, Conference USA, MAC and WAC have all canceled their tournaments as well.

Update 1:04 p.m. Big East cancels the remainder of its tournament at half-time of Creighton vs St. John’s game.
