Britni Mohney Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Britni Mohney has been named head women’s basketball coach at Pennsylvania College of Technology, Director of Athletics John Vandevere announced May 28.

Mohney spent the previous five years as the head coach at Salem College, an all-women’s college in Winston Salem, N.C. Mohney mentored the conference player of the year in 2014-15 and guided her team to regular season championships in 2015 and 2016. Mohney’s teams reached the postseason in four of her five seasons in Winston Salem.

“I am very excited to welcome Britni Mohney to Penn College as our next Head Women’s Basketball Coach,” Vandevere said. “We had a very strong, competitive candidate pool and Britni was just outstanding throughout the process.  Her experience as a player and as a successful head coach of multiple sports will pay off dividends for our student-athletes as we continue to build our women’s basketball program.”

Prior to Salem, Mohney was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Keuka College and the head cross country coach. Her stint at Keuka followed two years as a graduate assistant at Utica, where she began her coaching career after graduating from Allegheny College.

Mohney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Managerial Economics from Allegheny College and received her MBA from Utica College in Economics Crime and Fraud Management.

“I am extremely honored and grateful to be Penn College’s next women’s basketball coach,” Mohney said.  “I would like to thank John Vandevere and the committee for this opportunity to continue my passion of coaching.  I look forward to working with the talented and vibrant coaches at Penn College, and most importantly with the quality student-athletes to establish a culture of excellence on and off the court.  Throughout this process, I was impressed by the college, the sense of community within the athletic department, and the commitment to the student-athlete experience.  I am eager to begin this journey at Penn College.”

Mohney will begin her role at Penn College on May 28.
