Williamsport, Pa. – Montoursville native and Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Mussina was honored at Historic Bowman Field in a pregame ceremony and the Williamsport Crosscutters followed that up with a 6-2 over the Auburn Doubledays before a packed house at BB&T Ballpark on Thursday night.
Logan O’Hoppe continued another home run while going 3-for-3 with 3 RBI. O’Hoppe leads the Crosscutters with five home runs and 19 RBI and is on an eight-game hitting streak.
Juan Aparicio and Hunter Hearn both had 2-for-4 nights with an RBI apiece. Williamsport was ahead by just a run before putting it away with a three-run rally in the eighth.
Williamsport took two out of three games in the series.
The Crosscuters open a six-game road-trip over the next seven days on Friday night in Batavia, N.Y. against the first-place Muckdogs. Minnesota native RHP Brett Schulze is the likely starter for Williamsport.
