Emilia Romagna Little League Returns to Williamsport as the 2019 Little League Baseball® Europe and Africa Region Champions

KUTNO, POLAND (July 26, 2019) – Emilia Romagna Little League from Bologna, Italy, has officially been crowned the Europe and Africa Region Champion and is headed to Williamsport for the 2019 Little League Baseball® World Series.

Emilia Romagna Little League went undefeated throughout the regional tournament, beating teams from the Netherlands twice, Spain, and Austria while outscoring opponents, 27-7, in four games. In the championship game, they defeated Amsterdam Little League from the Netherlands, 1-0, which proved to be their closest game in the tournament.

This will be Emilia Romagna Little League’s fourth time representing the Europe and Africa Region in the Little League Baseball World Series with appearances in 2008, 2016, and most recently in 2017, where they lost to Mexico in the elimination round.

Emilia Romagna Little League begins the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series against Chofu Little League from the Japan Region on Friday, August 16 at 2 p.m. in Volunteer Stadium. Spanning
the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, culminating in the Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 25.
