Ortiz Captures UPMC Susquehanna Crosscutters Player of the Week

Cutters outfielder Jhailyn Ortiz has been named the UPMC Susquehanna Player of the Week for the week of July 3 – July 9.

For the week, Ortiz hit .423 with 8 runs batted in while playing in all 7 games.  His 17 total bases for the week included 3 doubles and a home run.   He currently ranks 3rd in the NYPL in RBI’s (12) and 4th in On-Base Percentage (.451).

Ortiz was signed by the Phillies as a free agent in 2015.  He was ranked as the #1 international prospect by MLB.com in 2015.

The award will be presented prior to the Williamsport Crosscutters game on July 14.
