Ravens 2017 Schedule Released

The Baltimore Ravens will play four primetime games, three of which are at home, in 2017. The Ravens will host their first Monday Night Football game in five years, when the Houston Texans come to town on Nov. 27. (The last time the Ravens played a game on Monday night at M&T Bank Stadium was in 2012, when Baltimore defeated Cincinnati, 44-13, in the season opener on Sept. 10.)

Three of the Ravens’ first four matchups are against AFC North opponents, with Baltimore opening the season at Cincinnati on Sept. 10, then hosting the Cleveland Browns in the home opener on Sept. 17.

For the first time, Baltimore will travel to London to play the host Jaguars on Sept. 24 at Wembley Stadium. Following their trip across the Atlantic, the Ravens welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to Charm City on Oct. 1.

In a unique schedule, the Ravens will span much of the globe over a two-week period, playing as far east as an NFL team plays (London) and then traveling far west to Oakland to battle the Raiders on Oct. 8. (The Oakland game is the start of four road games over the next six.)

On Oct. 15, the Chicago Bears return to Baltimore for the first time since December of 2009, while the following week (Oct. 22), the Ravens will face another NFC North foe in Minneapolis at the Vikings’ U.S. Bank Stadium, which opened in 2016.

The Ravens, who have won six of their last seven Thursday night games, play the Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium in a Thursdaynight showdown on Oct. 26. Baltimore then travels to Nashville for a tilt against the Titans (Nov. 5), prior to the team’s Week 10 bye on Nov. 12. Following the bye, the Ravens are at historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay on Nov. 19.

Beginning with the Nov. 27 Monday night game against Houston, the Ravens conclude the season with four of their last six games at M&T Bank Stadium.

For the first time in the team’s 22-year history, Baltimore finishes the regular season with two-straight home contests (vs. Indianapolis on Dec. 23 and vs. Cincinnati on Dec. 31). The Colts game, which will be televised on the NFL Network at 4:30 p.m., is part of a national doubleheader.

The Ravens host the Detroit Lions on Dec. 3 before traveling for back-to-back road games: Sunday night in primetime at Pittsburgh on Dec. 10 and at Cleveland on Dec. 17. This is the second of two occasions (at Tennessee on Nov. 5 and at Green Bay on Nov. 19) the Ravens will play consecutive road games in 2017.

Schedule Notes:

  • Baltimore’s four primetime games (including three at home) are its most since 2012, when the Ravens also played four primetime contests.
  • The Ravens will host their first Monday Night Football game since 2012 when they welcome the Houston Texans to M&T Bank Stadium on Nov. 27. Prior to this, dating back to head coach John Harbaugh’s 2008 arrival, an NFL-high 11 of the Ravens’ last 12 Monday Night Football games had been scheduled on the road.
  • In 2017, the Ravens will play seven games against 2016 playoff teams: Steelers (twice), Dolphins, Raiders, Texans, Lions and Packers.
  • For the 11th-consecutive season (2007-17), the Ravens and Steelers will face off in a nationally-televised contest when Baltimore travels to Pittsburgh for a Sunday night showdown on Dec. 10.
  • Three of Baltimore’s first four games will be played against AFC North opponents. The Ravens also close the 2017 season with three of their final four games against division foes.
  • After playing on the road on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in 2016, the Ravens will be “home for the holidays” when they host Indianapolis (Dec. 23) and Cincinnati (Dec. 31) at M&T Bank Stadium to cap the regular season. This marks the first time in franchise history that Baltimore will play its final two games at M&T Bank Stadium. (The Ravens end the regular season against Cincinnati for the seventh time in the past eight years.)
  • When Baltimore hosts Miami on Oct. 26, the Ravens will enter the game with wins in six of their last seven Thursdaynight tilts.
  • The Ravens will make only their second-ever trip to Minnesota for a regular season game – and first to the newly-opened U.S. Bank Stadium – in pursuit of their first victory in Minneapolis.
  • Baltimore seeks its first-ever victory (0-3) at Green Bay’s Lambeau Field, where the Ravens have not been scheduled since 2009.
  • For the third time in franchise history and first since 2008, Baltimore will play in a Saturday primetime contest when it hosts Indianapolis on Dec. 23. The Ravens are 1-1 in previous such games and have a 4-4 all-time record (including playoffs) at home against the Colts.
  • For the first time since 2009, NFC North opponents Chicago and Detroit will each travel to Charm City, where they are a combined 0-4 all time in the regular season. Houston, which is 0-4 all time (including playoffs) in Baltimore, returns for the first time since 2013.

Ravens Team Notes:

  • In 2016, Baltimore played the NFL’s second-most games (tied, Houston and New Orleans) decided by eight points or fewer, producing a 6-6 record in those contests.
  • In posting a 6-2 record at M&T Bank Stadium in 2016, the Ravens boasted the NFL’s top-ranked defense in both points (14.8 ppg) and yards (260.3 ypg) allowed at home.
  • Under John Harbaugh (2008-16), the Ravens are 54-18 (.750) at M&T Bank Stadium, ranking as the NFL’s third-best home mark during that nine-year span.
  • Over the past nine seasons (coach Harbaugh era/since 2008), the Ravens have earned six playoff berths and produced the NFL’s fourth-most total victories (95).
  • The Ravens are one of seven teams with at least six playoff berths (2008-12 and 2014) in the past nine seasons, winning at least one playoff game in each of those respective years.
  • The Ravens’ 10 playoff wins since coach Harbaugh’s first season in 2008 are the league’s second most and have helped them advance to three AFC Championship games.
