Walk Off Sinks Cutters

The Williamsport Crosscutters were unable to hang on to a late lead in the back end of a doubleheader, dropping both games and all three games of the series to the State College Spikes.

Juan Aparico had a string day at the plate, finishing game one 2-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and a RBI.

Aparicio finished the 2nd game 2-3 with a double, a triple and two runs scored.

Edgar Made hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot that gave the Crosscutters a 3-2 lead in the 4th inning.

Corbin Williams stole three bases in the first game, giving him four thefts on the season.

Williamsport stole five bases over the course of the doubleheader extending their NYPL lead in the category.

Rafael Carvajal suffered the loss in game one, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk. Carvajal struck out four in the outing.

In game two, Blake Bennett suffered his first blown save of the season and took his first loss of the year after surrendering a walk-off three-run home run.  All three runs were unearned.

The Crosscutters are now 1-3 in doubleheaders this season.

They posted a 4-2 record in doubleheaders in 2018.
